A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after a gang of youths allegedly went on an early-morning crime spree in Melbourne’s bayside suburbs, stealing several luxury cars. 9News understands high-profile criminal defense lawyer Dermot Dann is one of several residents caught up in the deal.It was about 5am when youths turned up at several Brighton homes in a stolen Porsche.
The crime spree occurred in Brighton about 5am. (Nine)It is believed that a group of offenders gained access to a property on Were Street about 6am and stole an Audi SUV and a Lexus SUV from the address, while the residents were home.Police responded quickly and spotted two people traveling in the Lexus on Were Street.The pair dumped the car and fled on foot.Officers arrested a 14-year-old girl from Bayside but could not find the other person.It is understood she is already known to police.Police recovered the stolen Audi a short time later, dumped on Lynch Street.Brighton residents too afraid to be identified have told 9News they saw the youths inside their home and in their backyards this morning.The investigation is ongoing.
