A popular range of Christmas-themed candles has been recalled due to safety fears.
The scented candles with light-up LED lights had been sold at Dusk stores across Australia and online between October 24 and December 12, 2024.

However, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has since issued a recall for the candles after the product failed to comply with mandatory information standards for items containing button/coin batteries.
The ACCC warned the candles could pose a serious risk to young children.

“The product does not include the required warning information,” the ACCC said.
“There is a risk of choking, severe internal burn injuries or death to young children if they gain access to the button/coin batteries and swallow or place them inside their body.
“Severe or fatal injuries can happen in 2 hours or less.
“Consumers may be unaware that the product contains button batteries.”

The affected models include Flower Market, Fresh Evergreen, Fruit Market and Sweet Shop.
Consumers are being urged to stop using the product immediately and keep it out of reach of children.
