An Australian teenager was allegedly stabbed to death during a brawl in Thailand and a boy has been arrested. A 14-year-old Thai-Australian boy was stabbed from behind during an argument with a friend on Tuesday night, the Bangkok Post reported. The attacker, another 14-year-old boy, then fled the scene.

Local police said the two were schoolmates who organised a fight to resolve an ongoing dispute. The accused boy told police they agreed to meet outside a grocery store near their home in Sattahip district, more than 100 kilometres south of Bangkok. The victim was reportedly a Thai student with a Thai mother and an Australian father. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed the death of an Australian in Thailand. “The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian who has died in Thailand,” it said in a statement
The accused boy told police he and the victim had arranged to meet outside a grocery store. (Channel 9) “We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family during this difficult time. Due to our privacy obligations, we are unable to provide further comment.”
