The Israeli ambassador (centre) met with community leaders today. (Channel 9) Maimon refused to talk about the three suspects believed to be behind the attack. AFP deputy commissioner Chrissie Barrett revealed yesterday that the attack had been turned into a counter-terrorism investigation. The declaration will give police extra powers, including the ability to stop, search and arrest people without a warrant. Victoria Police Commissioner Shane Barton also confirmed police were hunting three suspects in the case but would not give further details. Dozens of extra police officers will patrol the place of worship and surrounding streets in the city’s southeast following the fire.
