A killer who broke into his former partner’s home and brutally stabbed her to death in front of her young children has been sentenced to a maximum of 24 years and six months in prison. James William Pualic, 45, was sentenced in the Victorian Supreme Court today after pleading guilty to murdering mother-of-four Analyn ‘Logee’ Osias. He broke into his former partner’s home in Bendigo, northern Victoria, on October 29, 2023, in violation of a family violence intervention order designed to protect her, and killed her.

Mother of four Analyn ‘Logee’ Osias was murdered in her own home after her ex-husband broke into her home and beat, strangled and stabbed her. (Title 9) Pualik smashed a bedroom window and forced his way into the house by ripping open a security door. He dragged Osias from her bed, slammed her head against the floor, strangled her and then stabbed her to death. Osias’ two primary school-aged children were home at the time, and one of the girls witnessed the killing. Judge Rita Incerti described the killing as brutal and unprovoked during her sentencing. “Your crimes were brutal, vicious and without mercy,” the judge said. “Ms. Osias had the right to end her relationship with her wife without fear of harm.” Pualik bowed his head as he was sentenced and will be eligible for parole after serving 19 years.
