A man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly pinning another man between a car and a trailer in a seaside suburb of Adelaide. Police were called to a home on Morrow Road in O’Sullivan Beach about 5.30pm on Friday following reports of a man pouring “accelerant” into the home. Police said the man who lived inside came out to confront the other man and the suspect jumped into a car and drove towards the resident.
The 61-year-old man is in a critical condition following the incident. (Channel 9) The 61-year-old homeowner was trapped between the car and the trailer, while the driver allegedly fled the scene. Firefighters were called in with heavy equipment to help free the homeowner, before paramedics treated the injured man at the scene. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. Police arrested a 31-year-old man from Christie Downs yesterday and he has been charged with attempted murder, endangering life and arson. He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

(Channel 9) Neighbourhood staff told 9News the suspect had lived at his home for about 10 years and was well-liked in the community. “He was a good man and it’s sad that this happened on Christmas Eve,” local Paul Brown said. Police said the two men knew each other and are asking anyone with information or CCTV to come forward.
